Are you interested in becoming a Success Mentor for 糖心传媒鈥檚 First Year Experience (FYE) program?
This is more than just a campus job. It鈥檚 a chance to make a real impact on students who are just starting their college journey.
What is a Success Mentor?
The FYE Success Mentor role goes beyond traditional tutoring. While you will support students in English and/or math, the most important part of the role is building relationships and helping students feel supported and confident throughout the semester.
Success Mentors are people students can rely on.
What You鈥檒l Do
As a Success Mentor, you will:
- Check in regularly with students
- Help students navigate challenges early
- Connect students to campus resources
- Support students in staying on track academically and personally
- Be a friendly, consistent presence in and outside of the classroom
- Provide help with English and math content
Position Expectations
Success Mentors may work up to 20 hours per week, which may include:
- Support in FYE English and math class
- Hosting office hours
- Leading or supporting study sessions
- Providing outreach and peer mentorship
All mentors will:
- Participate in campus-wide tutor training (led by Tutorial Center; date TBD)
- Attend an additional two-hour FYE training on August 12
- Participate in the 鈥淏ring Your Team鈥 evening event on August 12
- Have opportunities to lead workshops and support FYE events
Pay & Eligibility
This position is Federal Work Study eligible.
Success Mentors are paid at the standard tutor hourly rate:
- Tutor level 1 = student worker category 4 (first semester) $18.50
- Tutor level 2 = student worker category 5 (at least one semester) $19.00
- Tutor level 3 = student worker category 6 (two or more semesters) $19.50
