Fee-based courses

Welcome to Fee-based Program!


Fee-based courses are open to the community and designed for learners at all experience levels. Explore new interests, build practical skills, and develop confidence through hands-on learning. Learn from experienced instructors in a supportive environment. All courses are self-supporting and do not receive any taxpayer funding.

Requirements:

  • Personal email (used for student email account)
  • Valid mobile phone number

You will receive a Welcome email with your AHC Student ID and username.

Set up your password:

Go to the and click "New Hancock College Users" to create a password. Save your ID, username, and password.

After registering, a Hancock email will be created (e.g., allan.hancock@my.hancockcollege.edu). Check it regularly for notifications.

Search for courses:

  • Select the term and click CONTINUE.
  • Use the dropdowns, then click SEARCH.
  • Save the Course Registration Number (CRN) for Step 3.

Log in to to verify your registration date.

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG) does not cover fee-based courses.

You may also pay in person at Community Education, 800 S. College Dr., Santa Maria, CA, Building S.

  • Drop a class at least one day before the start date to receive a full refund
  • No refunds are issued once a class has begun
  • If a class is canceled, a full refund will be issued

Refund requests must be submitted through Community Education.

Students are responsible for checking their email for any course updates, cancellations, or information shared about registered courses.

Learn how to crochet your first rectangular shawl in a Spanish-language class designed for beginners.

Learn life-saving CPR skills for adults, children, and infants in a Spanish-language course.

Introduction to Beekeeping

Learn how to start and manage your own beehive in this beginner-friendly course designed for hobby beekeepers on the Central Coast.

Students learn:

  • Hive setup and management
  • Bee identification
  • Safe removal and relocation
  • Pest and disease management
  • Plants that support bee health
  • Legal considerations for beekeeping

The course also explores current challenges affecting honeybee populations, including colony collapse disorder.
