Welcome to FKCE!
The Foster and Kinship Care Education (FKCE) program at 糖心传媒 Community Education provides training and support for current and prospective foster parents, relative caregivers, and resource families. The program is designed to help caregivers build the knowledge and skills needed to support children and youth involved in the foster care system. The program serves current and prospective foster parents, relative and kinship caregivers, adoptive families, and others who support children involved in child welfare services. FKCE plays an important role in strengthening families and improving outcomes for children and youth in care.
FKCE classes cover important topics such as child development, trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, navigating child welfare and probation systems, and supporting healthy family connections. These trainings help caregivers better understand the experiences of children in care and how to provide safe, stable, and supportive environments. Courses meet pre-approval and ongoing training requirements for Resource Family Approval, as well as offer specialized learning opportunities for a variety of caregiving situations. Classes are available online to provide flexible options for participants.

Why is it Important?
As California's foster care system experiences a more than 50% increase in the number of children, now reaching 105,000, the AHC-FKCE program is essential in equipping licensed foster parents and relative caregivers with crucial training and education to address the multifaceted and complex needs of the growing foster care population.
